As girls, we’re kind of taught to say ‘I’m sorry’ all the time. It’s like you walk through the door, and you’re automatically saying, ‘Sorry! Sorry. Did I step on you? I’m sorry. Did I… Did I breathe? Oh my- I’m so sorry’. I’m playing a character who never said she’s sorry. There’s something beautiful in the weathered, unapologetic stories; I love those people… They’ve got a few scars, and they’ve earned it. They’ve lived their lives.
